Ashreale McDowell | Dancer | Educator | Administrator
Ashreale is a native of St. Louis, MO. She discovered her passion for dance in high school, at Central Visual and Performing Arts. She was rewarded with a pre professional scholarship to COCA. Through the tough struggles of starting dance at a really late age, COCA helped her grow and develop her technique. She received a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Webster University. It was there, at Webster, where she was able to not only deepen her training as dancer, but discover her artistry as a mover and performer. She has had the wonderful opportunity to work with artist such as Alicia Graf, Antonio Douthit Boyd, Kirvin Douthit Boyd, Leonard Cruz, Jimena Paz, Jessica Taylor, Alana Marie Urda and Lynn Bobzin. She has performed in The Wiz and The Black Nativity at The Black Rep. She has also performed in AIDA and High School Musical at The Muny. Ashreale has studied and performed in Italy. She is a teaching artist with Springboard, COCA and Gateway Center of Performing Arts. As a company artist, she has trained and performed with Beyond Measure Dance Theater, under the direction of Alicia Sunshine Gbaho. In the Fall of 2016, she made her debut as choreographer in Consuming Kinetics Dance Company's professional Concert, Take Root. Ashreale is excited to be joining CKDC for her fifth season.
