Kinetic community connections (kcc)

Kinetic Community Connection was founded in 2019 by Associate Director, Kat Norton and Artistic Director, Arica Brown. KCC is an event-based program. Each event has a theme, or topic selected by a member of our team, past attendees and others who engage in our public community discussions. These free and open-to-the-public gatherings focus on conversation and emphasize the benefits of learning from each other and our own experiences. Some topics are closely related to the themes our professional company explore in dance concerts. Many KCC events will invite an “expert” in the field, for example, a toxicologist may be invited if the event explores the dangers of certain ingredients in our products. But these experts are available as a resource, and an additional attendee in the conversation, rather than to be a lecturer on the subject. The goal of KCC is to create avenues for community building through creativity, exploration and conversation. KCC Events are designed to be welcoming and inclusive and motivate all participants to take part in the meaningful discussions.
