Raii is a classically trained Hip Hop dancer, acrobatics coach and Martial Artist from Oakland, California. He has been training in the Korean Martial Art of Tae-kwondo since 1996 in Oakland, California under in his uncle's school “7-Shadows Martial Arts". He began his Hip Hop training with Bay Area local veteran Hip Hop dancers and street performers from crews like Oakland Breakers, Rock Force Crew and For Ever We Rock Crew. Raii expanded his dance vocabulary to include acrobatics at Dance10 Performing Arts in Alameda and also went on to study Jazz, Ballet and Modern as a student at Oakland School for the Arts High School. After graduation, Raii danced in several music videos for local artists as well as visiting artists such as Styles P and Bassnectar. He began teaching dance and coaching gymnastics and acrobatics in the area. He also performed with a local Jazz Dance Company, Avatar Flux while continuing his Bboy training. Raii holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance with a Ballet emphasis from Webster University, and a first degree black belt from Kelly’s Martial Arts here in Saint Louis. He was an Apprentice with Modern American Dance Company, a Dancer for Common Thread Dance Company and teaches at several dance schools in and around the St. Louis area spanning over a dozen dance techniques. He has is CKDC’s Resident Breaking Educator and acrobatics coach, and hosts several workshops in other dance styles such as Jazz, Ballet, and Hip Hop.
