Mimi Ito | Junior Company

Mimi started taking ballet and tap classes when she was 4 years old. She then took a break from dancing and began figure skating, which she pursued for four years. In 2011 she decided to take her very first Hip Hop dance class. She absolutely fell in love and continued dancing with Miss Arica at CKDC. After taking Hip Hop for a year, she began taking Contemporary classes as well. A year later, she joined CKDC's Junior Company where she trains several hours a week and participates in weekly rehearsals. In 2016, she joined an all female Hip Hop crew under the direction of D'Ron L. Yancey; Reine. She made her debut as a professional dancer in CKDC's The Scenic Route. In 2017 she became the youngest artist to ever join CKDC’s professional company and left her previous school to pursue a dance and arts focus at Grand Center Arts Academy. She began her teaching career with youth Poms and Adult and Youth Hip Hop. She is presently a professional dance instructor and performing artist at CKDC and she is also performing with the Beat Kill Crew as well as a new Hip Hop Crew, i8 under the direction of D'Ron L. Yancey.
