Boaz Goss | Studio Manager
Boaz joined CKDC in January 2016 as a volunteer. As studio manager he is responsible for keeping CKDC's space clean, taking many classes, handling any emergencies, & flooding the company with positive energy.
During high school in Frisco, Texas, Boaz was a state all-star offensive lineman & state champion super heavyweight power-lifter. He introduced Dance Dance Revolution into his football training regiment and this developed into a full-blown passion for footwork when he started winning weekly DDR competitions at the local arcade. When Boaz left football & powerlifting in college, he decided dance would be his primary athletic pursuit.
In his senior year at Azusa Pacific University, (Major: Philosophy, Minors: Theology & Humanities) Boaz became a certified Zumba instructor & taught various Zumba classes on campus & around the SoCal region.
Once Boaz began grad school & moved to Saint Louis he discovered CKDC. At first he came for the Zumba, but then he started staying for all the classes. In Fall 2014 CKDC connected him to STAGES Saint Louis, where he taught K-12 Kids Hip Hop for a semester.
In 2015 Boaz began studying house footwork style under Jardy Santiago through online classes, which he continues to this day.
In 2016 Boaz joined the company as a volunteer, & later earned the official title of Studio Manager. In July 2016 Boaz performed 7 professional pieces as part of the 2-week Big Muddy Dance Intensive. He will have two roles in CKDC's "Take Root" Fall concert & is thrilled about his first ever understudy role. Boaz was a house-style finalist at the 4th Annual Beat Kill Jam, which was his competitive freestyle debut.
Boaz is so thankful to be a part of the CKDC dance family & strives to create a class atmosphere where everyone feels at home.
When he isn't dancing, Boaz is working on a dual PhD. He has published an article & a book chapter with more in progress. He hopes to eventually teach theology & dance for the rest of his life.
